AI Tutor

Overview

Built with a friend three years ago. I handled the frontend (React, TypeScript, Zustand), he did the backend in Python, database on Supabase. AI tutor for Romanian students, grades 1-8. Each student picks a subject and gets guided through lessons, exercises, and explanations. The challenge: GPT-4 back then couldn’t do basic math reliably. We had to build our own logic layer to handle calculations and validate answers before showing them to students. Learned a lot about where AI breaks and how to build around it.
